TYL Tsuna being emasculized by the fandom is probably a result of the fetishization of Asian men. Tsuna starts off the series as shorter than most of his guardians, slender, and with really large eyes.

People with a fetish latch onto all those things combined. It doesn’t matter what his real personality is! He becomes a stand in for shippers (in my experience I’ve seen a lot of straight women doing this though that’s not always the case) and everything goes downhill.

At that point he is no longer a character he is a stereotype loosely based off of a misconception of his character born from a fetish.

Fanartists spread that and eventually in fandoms like KHR fanon becomes canon.
